About Us

Educational Technology and Design provides Dalhousie’s Truro Campus with access to, and support for, technologies that can help transform teaching and support students’ learning experience. We provide instructional design expertise and determine the best solution for technology integration based on the needs of both the clientele and the curriculum. In doing so the unit is integral to:

  • enhancing and expanding services and courses that improve accessibility
  • providing an alternative range of delivery modes
  • increasing the diversity of the student body both geographically and demographically
  • supporting the concept and importance of vibrant learning communities within our student body
  • harnessing efficiencies through development of course materials that can be utilized in multiple learning opportunities

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, ETD is currently working remotely. Our office space on the Truro campus is located in Room 236, Haley Institute, in Bible Hill, Nova Scotia.

After years of dedicated service to the Agricultural Campus and extensive contributions, both obvious and especially the ‘underrated’, Linda Jack retired in August 2019. She certainly left a significant imprint in ETD and beyond, and her efforts to guide others in rethinking teaching methods in a digital world will benefit the campus well beyond her career.
